I personally think that many modeling amps, for example the Line6 Spider, don’t make good amps for beginners. I think it’s too easy for beginners to get lost in all the modeling and affects.

A simple, straightforward tube amp is excellent because it let’s the player focus on technique and playing instead of the technology. Something along the lines of the amps on this list are perfect in my opinion:

Hey there, this may be a little too late but what guitar do you currently use? There are alot of great guitars built at affordable prices. How about considering Fender Strat, Epiphone Les Paul, and the PRS SE range to name a few.

On amps, I think there are alot of affordable yet fantastic amps released in 2017. Try checking out the Boss Katana series, Orange Crush, Marshall Code series, Line 6 Spider V, Fender Mustang which are more in the budget range. Most of the amps I mentioned here are modelling amps, so I think you’ll have a fun time fiddling around with all the pokery jiggery. These amps will hopefully keep you occupied for awhile :)
