Theatre. Film. Music. Dance. Voice. Poetry.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness which scares us. We ask ourselves – who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous. But honestly, who are you to not be so?
– Marianne Williamson

Kara Wang is a bilingual and bicultural actress who has recently returned back to Los Angeles after 4 years in Asia. Raised in the suburbs of Southern California, she has been blessed with countless opportunities and the presence of wonderful people in her life. She discovered a passion for show choir, a type of performance combining both showmanship and musicianship, at an early age and worked to develop an impressive show choir resume in her school career. Alongside her passion for singing and dancing, Kara also found her niche in the theatre world. Performing in a wide array of musicals and plays from a young age, she has both given and found a bit of herself in each of the characters she has portrayed. Some of her favorite include Adelaide from Guys and Dolls, and Dolby in The Book of Tink. During her theatre career at the University of California Irvine, where she ultimately received her BA in theatre arts, Kara discovered a new passion for physical theatre, performance art, and ethnic theatre. She participated in several experimental pieces that have shaped her into the artist she is today. She even tried her hand at directing when she directed/produced her first show, POP Circus: balanced life in chaos.

Born in Los Angeles with a strong Chinese background, Kara is the epitome of a balanced union between the East and West. After moving to Beijing in 2010, she has appeared in numerous Chinese film productions as well as co-productions, such as Chen KaiGe’s “Caught in the Web” and Daniel Hsia’s “Shanghai Calling.” Television credits include: Hunan Television’s “Fiance” and Zhejiang Television’s “The Diamond’s Dream” to name just a few. You can also spot her on both regional and national commercial spots for: McDonalds, Walmart, and Kay’s Jewelry. Kara is looking forward to the glowing future between the US and China and she hopes that she will have the opportunity to be a part of many exciting collaborations to come.

Kara is currently working globally, represented by Vincent Cirrincione & Associates and ABA Talent Agency.
